Cass 9 Chapter 8 - A House Is Not a Home Summary in Hindi and English

'A House Is Not a Home' written by Zan Gaudioso reflects the challenges of a teenager. The story begins with the author leaving junior high as the head of the class and joining high school. He feels strange starting over as a freshman. Also, because his friends have been sent to a different school, he feels very isolated. He misses his old teachers and visits them often. They tell him that with time things will get better.

'ए हाउस इज नॉट ए होम' जिसे ज़ैन गौडिओसो द्वारा लिखा गया है, एक किशोर की चुनौतियों को दर्शाता है। कहानी लेखक के साथ शुरू होती है, जो कक्षा के प्रमुख के रूप में जूनियर हाई को छोड़ देता है और हाई स्कूल में शामिल होता है। वह एक नए आदमी के रूप में शुरू करने के लिए अजीब महसूस करता है। इसके अलावा, क्योंकि उसके दोस्तों को एक अलग स्कूल में भेजा गया है, वह बहुत अलग-थलग महसूस करता है। वह अपने पुराने शिक्षकों को याद करता है और अक्सर उनसे मिलने जाता है। वे उसे बताते हैं कि समय के साथ चीजें बेहतर हो जाएंगी।

On a Sunday afternoon, when the author is doing his homework, sitting by the side of his cat that was purring, his mother keeps stoking the fire to keep the house warm. That's when the author smells something strange. He then notices smoke pouring in from the seams of the ceiling. By the time he and his mother step out, they realise that the fire has engulfed the whole roof and that it is speaking rapidly.

एक रविवार की दोपहर को, जब लेखक अपना होमवर्क कर रहा होता है, तो अपनी बिल्ली के पास बैठता है जो अपने में मस्त होती है, उसकी मां घर को गर्म रखने के लिए आग को भड़काती रहती है। तभी लेखक को कुछ अजीब गंध आती है। फिर वह छत की सीम से धुआं निकलने की सूचना देता है। जब तक वह और उसकी मां बाहर निकलते हैं, तब तक उन्हें एहसास होता है कि आग ने पूरी छत को घेर लिया है और वह   तेजी से फ़ैल रही होती है। 

The author's mother runs out of the house carrying a small metal box full of important documents. She drops the case on the lawn and runs back into the house to ensure that the documents and photos of the author's late father are not destroyed. When the author is about to run inside to check on his mother, a fireman prevents him from doing so. His mother is rescued, and an oxygen mask is put on her.  The author watches his house burn down, knowing well he can't do anything about it.

लेखक की मां महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेजों से भरा एक छोटा धातु बॉक्स लेकर घर से बाहर निकलती है। वह लॉन मे उसे छोड़ देती है  और यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए घर में वापस चली जाती है कि लेखक के दिवंगत पिता के दस्तावेज और तस्वीरें नष्ट न हों। जब लेखक अपनी मां के लिए अंदर भागने वाला होता है, तो एक फायरमैन उसे ऐसा करने से रोकता है। उसकी मां को बचा लिया जाता है, और उस पर ऑक्सीजन मास्क लगाया जाता है।  लेखक अपने घर को जलते हुए देखता है, अच्छी तरह से जानते हुए भी वह इसके बारे में कुछ भी नहीं कर सकता है।

When the author goes to school next Monday, he wears the dress he had worn to church that morning but has no shoes as they had become a casualty of the fire. He is, therefore, forced to borrow some tennis shoes from his aunt. The author feels embarrassed as he has no proper shoes, backpack or books. He then wants to curl up and die, for all that he had loved - his friends, cat, house - had been ripped away.

जब लेखक अगले सोमवार को स्कूल जाता है, तो वह उस पोशाक को पहनता है जिसे उसने उस सुबह चर्च में पहना था, लेकिन उसके पास कोई जूते नहीं होते  क्योंकि वे आग के हताहत हो गए थे। इसलिए, वह अपनी चाची से कुछ टेनिस जूते उधार लेने के लिए मजबूर हो जाता है। लेखक शर्मिंदा महसूस करता है क्योंकि उसके पास कोई उचित जूते, बैग या किताबें नहीं हैं। फिर वह मरना चाहता है, क्योंकि वह जिन से भी प्यार करता था - उसके दोस्त, बिल्ली, घर - दूर हो गए थे।

The author also figures that what is left post the fire are some photo albums, documents and personal items that his mother had rescued. Also, they had no credit card. So, they are compelled to borrow money from the author's grandparents. As time passes, the author begins missing his cat even more.

लेखक यह भी सोचता है कि आग के बाद जो कुछ बचा है वह कुछ फोटो एल्बम, दस्तावेज और व्यक्तिगत आइटम हैं जिन्हें उनकी मां ने बचाया था। इसके अलावा, उनके पास कोई क्रेडिट कार्ड नहीं था। इसलिए, वे लेखक के दादा-दादी से पैसे उधार लेने के लिए मजबूर हैं। जैसे-जैसे समय बीतता है, लेखक अपनी बिल्ली को और भी अधिक याद करना शुरू कर देता है।

When the author goes to school the next day, he is taken by surprise. Those who never spoke with him now come to him and introduce themselves. They have also taken up a collection and bought him school supplies and different clothes, including jeans, tops, and sweatsuits.

जब लेखक अगले दिन स्कूल जाता है, तो उसे आश्चर्य होता है। जो लोग कभी उससे बात नहीं करते थे, वे अब उसके पास आते हैं और अपना परिचय देते हैं। उन्होंने एक संग्रह भी लिया है और उसे स्कूल की आपूर्ति और जींस, टॉप और स्वेटसूट सहित विभिन्न कपड़े खरीदे हैं।

After a month, when the house is being rebuilt, a woman holding a cat comes and asks the author if the cat belonged to him. He is overcome with joy upon finding his cat even as the cat purrs happily.  The cat had apparently run a mile away after being freaked by the fire. That's when the author's overwhelming feelings diminish, and he starts feeling grateful for his life, his new friends, the stranger who brought his cat back, and the cat that he had sorely missed. 

एक महीने के बाद, जब घर का पुनर्निर्माण किया जा रहा होता  है, तो एक बिल्ली पकड़े हुए एक महिला आती है और लेखक से पूछती है कि क्या बिल्ली उसकी थी। वह अपनी बिल्ली को वापिस पाने से बहुत खुश हो जाता है, और बिल्ली भी आनंद में धीरे से आवाज़े निकालती है। बिल्ली जाहिरा तौर पर आग से परेशान होने के बाद एक मील दूर भाग गई थी। यही वह समय होता है जब लेखक की भारी भावनाएं कम हो जाती हैं, और वह अपने जीवन के लिए आभारी महसूस करना शुरू कर देता है, उसके नए दोस्त, वे अजनबी जो उसकी  बिल्ली को वापस लाया था, और बिल्ली जिसे उसने बहुत याद किया था।
