3. Freedom is life. Discuss this with reference to ‘Chandni’ and ‘I Want Something in a Cage’.

Answer: Freedom is indeed life. One can live a life of luxury and comfort but has to be a slave of someone, there is no pride in doing so. When one decides to live a life of freedom, he embraces all the difficulties and gets ready to face the challenges all by himself. Slavery is a virtual death, it is better to fight and die than to live as a slave and Chandi decided to do the same thing. I

‘I Want Something in a Cage” expresses the same love for freedom. It talks about a prisoner who had spent all his life caged and spent all he had to buy freedom for a pair of caged birds.
