How to Introduce Yourself Examples

4 Different Ways to Introduce Yourself

1. Start with greetings and then write/tell your name and age. Age is not mandatory. Tell only when asked.

Example:-

  • Hello or hi, my name is Pradeesh and I’m 10 years old.
  • Hi, my name is Pradeesh, but my friends call me Paddy. I am a school student.
  • Hi, my name is Pradeesh and I’m a college student.
  • Hi, my name is Pradeesh and I’m married.

2. Write/tell, about your current status- fresher, working, studying, housewife, etc.

Example:-

  • I am a fresher and looking for opportunities to explore my skills.
  • I am working for XYZ Company as a Trainer since 2020.
  • I am doing Bachelors in Computer Application from ABC University. I am in 1st year or semester.
  • I am a housewife. I have two lovely children. They are grown up now so I can easily work and restart my professional career.

3. Write/tell, about your current work profile in detail and also add previous experiences, if any (skip, if you are fresher).

Example:-

In my current role, I provide process related training to new joinees/employees. Post training, I take care of their performance and also conduct refresher trainings for them. I share their weekly/monthly performance report with managers and stakeholders in the organization.

Similarly, you can write/talk about your other work profiles.

Note:-

Even if you’ve more than three or four different work experiences, try not to add all of them in your introduction. Keep your introduction short and relevant. If they want to know more, they will ask follow up questions and you just need to answer them.

4. Write/tell, about your study, goal, project, internship, workshop, and/or training that you’ve done and how they are beneficial for the work/job you’ve applied (skip, if you added your work experience).

Example:-

I’ve done Masters in English. During this course, I got an opportunity to work as an intern for an NGO named PQR Foundation. It helped me understand teaching vs. facilitation. Also, I got a chance to participate in a workshop for Coaching and Feedback which I think will be helpful in this role. I can effectively discuss feedback with my team and provide coaching to them.

5. Write/tell, about where you live/stay/reside. If possible, not mandatory, add some more information about the place where you are staying/living.

Example:-

  • I live in Delhi. It is an amazing city, with many tourist places to go like Qutub Minar, India Gate, etc.
  • I live in Chennai but I was born in Patna. My family shifted to Chennai when I was 10 years old.
  • I am from Calcutta but I live in Pune due to my study. I live in dormitory with my college friends.
  • I live in Noida. I was born and brought up here. I live with my family.

6. Write/tell, about your family. Keep it short and simple. If they want to know more, they’ll ask follow up questions and you just need to answer.

Example:-

  • I have a beautiful family- my mom, dad, younger brother and elder sister. We have great fun together.
  • There are five members in my family- my parents, two sisters, and I. I am the youngest.
  • I am an only child in my family. I’ve got two very loving parents.
  • I live with my beautiful wife and two children.

7. Write/tell, about your hobbies, interests, etc.

Example:-

  • My favourite activity is riding a bike. I've a cute puppy and I love playing with it. My favourite food is pizza.
  • I like reading books and watching movies with superheroes. My favourite subject is Math, because I like solving problems.
  • I love sports. I'm crazy about swimming. I can swim a lot in 5 minutes. My favourite food is biryani.
  • My favourite hobby is traveling and exploring new things. One of my dreams is to go for para-gladding someday in the future. It must be very exciting! I have a healthy lifestyle. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables.
  • I enjoy cooking whenever I have free time. I like watching family comedies. I don't like drama and thrillers. My favourite food is Chinese noodles. I think it is a healthy food!
