How to Describe Your Hometown - A Village
(1) Write/tell, name of your village, where it is situated and its connectivity…
Example: - I live in a small village named Kanda situated in the northern part of Dehradun, in a large valley at the foot of the mountains. Although it is 350km far from the main city- Dehradun, it has daily and timely bus services for the villagers.
(2) Write/tell, about the environment/weather/season…
Example: - It’s a very quiet place, the air is clean and fresh and the landscapes are breath-taking. There are mainly three seasons- winter, summer and monsoon. I like monsoon the most. It makes the place come alive and I enjoy the lush green landscape. However, the road due to rains, becomes tricky and dangerous for people.
(3) Write/tell, about the public or tourist (if any) places in your village…
Example: - There are a few shops in my village other than a bakery and a grocery store. There is also a school, a post office, and a small clinic/govt. hospital in my village. The hospital and the bus stop are not far away from my house.
(4) Write/tell, about the people and their businesses in your village…
Example: - People here are very friendly and we all know each other. Tourism is the main business or source of income in my village. In winter, many tourists come here for skiing, hiking and snowboarding. I too like skiing. There is a small ski resort above my village. The business of woollen clothes are always in demand due to its freezing cold in winter.
(5) Write/tell, about the things you like and dislike in your village…
Example: - Things that I like the most about my village is that you can enjoy several sports activities here, such as skiing, hiking, snowboarding and mountain biking. I go hiking very often with my friends. You can also try rock climbing here. I don’t like it very much because it’s quite dangerous.
(6) Write/tell, closing sentences along with some plans or developments in your village…
Example: - It’s a beautiful village, but… sometimes it’s a little boring due to less opportunities or jobs. I’d like to move to a big city for better opportunities. We didn’t have electricity in our village but now the current government has made it available to everyone in the village.

There is also a zoo in the city where you can visit. There are so many stores, shops, and malls where you can buy anything you need.
