Dear Mom and Dad,
I am fine here and hope this letter finds you in good health. I am enjoying my new college and hostel life. Though I feel homesick sometimes but your words of advice always help me overcome the feeling.
Last week, there was a seminar in my college. I came to know a lot about mutual funds and I think we should also invest in it. Many people think that mutual funds invest only in shares but it also invests in debt securities which are relatively much safer. It is in India since 1964. It is one of the best solutions for people like us who want to manage risks and get good returns. Some other advantages are:
- We can choose funds based on our risk and expected returns.
- We can cash our investments anytime by selling our units to the fund or in the market.
- We can easily transfer our holdings from one scheme to another.
- They give complete transparency and regular updates to their investors along with investment strategy and outlook.
In short, I want to tell you that you need not worry about the returns. Mutual funds balance between risk and return and give the best of both to the investors. Hope I’ve explained it well to both of you, so let’s start investing in mutual funds. It’s been long time since we’ve seen one other. I am coming home next month on Christmas and will talk more about it.
See you soon . . .
Take care until then,
Your loving son
Prabhat
