My name is Vishal Kumar and I am a regular reader of your newspaper. I am writing this letter to express my concern at the sudden increase in a number of incidents of chain snatching and day light robberies in my area/society.
Yesterday, some motorcycle borne youth sprinkled chilli powder in the eyes of an elderly businessman and snatched his bag containing some cash and important documents. The businessman was badly injured in the incident. In another incident, a woman was robbed of her gold chain in broad day light. The sudden rise in the number of such incidents is a matter of concern and needs immediate attention.
Unfortunately, such cases are not high priority cases for the police department. The victims are at a loss and don’t know who to approach for the safety and security of their lives and property. I think, security post and gates, CCTV cameras, etc. can help prevent such incidents happening. Hopefully, you’ll be able to help us in drawing the attention of the concerned authority and resolve this issue at the earliest.
